Bath resealing at your home in Kingham
A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. We’re often asked to fix silicone smeared on tiles and missing sealant behind the taps, in kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Is resealing worth it?
Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Common problems we fix in Kingham
No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Stained silicone
- Sealant that is split or lifting
- Black mould in the sealant
- Damp near the bath

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
How the visit works
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to about two hours for a bath, tidy-up included.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
How to prepare
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Keep a parking space free if you can
Getting a price
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Related advice
How we price bath resealing
We do not charge extra for travel to Kingham. The price depends on:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How many items we do on one visit
- The material and finish
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Quotes from your pictures
When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- Where you are, by postcode
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.
How to care for the repair
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
- Open a window after bathing
Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
