Bath resealing at your home in Lilbourne
A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s silicone coming away from the tiles and black spots in the silicone, we can normally put it right.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Lilbourne and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Prices and what affects them
Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:
- What kind of damage it is
- How many items we do on one visit
- The colour and finish to match
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Lilbourne. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The material, if you know it
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
The process
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a couple of hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
How to prepare
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
Get a quote
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Advice
Work for landlords and builders
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Lilbourne use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Keep the joints dry
- Air the room after use
- Give the seal a regular clean
Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
Do you need bath resealing in Lilbourne?
Poor ventilation speeds things up: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould takes hold.
Most people contact us when they notice one of these:
- An untidy old seal
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Sealant that is split or lifting
Before you book anyone
- How changes to the job are handled
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- What aftercare is recommended
Why reseal now?
Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why book with us
- No extra charge for your area
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Most jobs done in one visit
- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Lilbourne questions
Why does mould come back so fast?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
How much does bath resealing cost in Lilbourne?
Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
Can you quote from photos?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.
What happens if you find more damage?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
