Bath resealing near Rugby

Bath resealing at your home in Rugby

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Whether it’s silicone coming away from the tiles and black mould in the sealant, we can generally put it right, on shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Rugby as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Warwickshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

What we cannot put right

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • A flexing bath

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Air the room after use

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

What happens on the day

We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes about two hours for a bath. We leave the room clean.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Getting a price

What bath resealing costs

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Where you are, by postcode

Upload photos of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Rugby, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Your questions about bath resealing in Rugby

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

How long does silicone take to cure?

You will get the curing time from us, generally around a day.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
