How we handle bath resealing in Llanfrynach
We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. We work on kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and basins & vanity units, and the jobs we see most are water getting behind the bath or tray and black mould in the sealant.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Llanfrynach as everywhere else we work.

Why reseal now?
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Llanfrynach questions
What information do you need?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Is there any odour?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
Will the price change on the day?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Powys.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.
How it works
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes about two hours for a bath for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
How to get a price
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Open a window after bathing
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Dry the seal after bathing
Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
When a repair isn’t the answer
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
