How bath repair works in LD3
Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the next day. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Typical jobs include snagging damage from a refit and a chipped rim or side, on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the following day.
What you will pay
Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Why customers in LD3 choose us
- Fixed prices from your pictures
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- No need to remove anything
Getting a price
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Local landmarks in Brecon
We visit homes around Ysgol Golwg Pen Y Fan, Cantref Adventure Farm and Riding Centre and Roman Catholic Church of St Michael, among other places. Nearby you’ll also find Brecon War Memorial Hospital (under half a mile east) and Brecon Castle (within half a mile north-west). The countryside around Brecon includes Ty Mawr Pool and Slwch Tump.
- Local facilities include St Mary (0.6 miles east)
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
Honest limits
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
Landlords, agents and businesses in LD3
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Looking after it afterwards
To keep it looking its best for years:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
Common problems we fix in LD3
Rust typically starts where water sits, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.
If you can see any of these, send us a picture:
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Impact holes in acrylic
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
