Bath resealing near Llanrwst

How we handle bath resealing in Llanrwst

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Whether it’s sealant that’s split or lifting and stained silicone, we can usually put it right, on baths, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

What bath resealing costs

There’s no area surcharge for Llanrwst. What changes the price is:

  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed price

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.

Signs you need bath resealing in Llanrwst

Even good sealant eventually discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • An untidy old seal
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Stained silicone
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray

What your quote should include

  • If travel is included in the price
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Choosing a repair company

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Llanrwst questions

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

What happens next?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Normally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Normally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
