Bath resealing at your home in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. If you are dealing with damp near the bath and silicone smeared on tiles, we can usually put it right.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Common questions in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Prices and what affects them

We don’t charge extra for travel to Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain. The price depends on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to get a fixed quote

You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

How to care for the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Open a window after bathing

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

How it works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes around two hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
