Bath resealing in Lower Heath

Bath resealing at your home in Lower Heath

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. We work on baths, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units, and the jobs we see most are gaps in the seal and stained silicone.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes about two hours for a bath, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Advice

Lower Heath questions

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Lower Heath and the rest of Worcestershire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

What do you need from me?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

If you manage property in Lower Heath, we will quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Hidden water damage

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

When to call us in Lower Heath

Poor ventilation speeds things up: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould takes hold.

People generally call us after spotting one of these:

  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Unsealed corners

What your quote should include

  • What prep work is covered
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How to care for the finish

Choosing a repair company

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
