Bath resealing for Lyndhurst homes

Bath resealing in Lyndhurst, done in place

Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. We work on baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and people most frequently call us about a messy previous reseal and missing sealant behind the taps.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms

Why it’s worth resealing in Lyndhurst

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

Prices and what affects them

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How many areas need work

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It usually takes around two hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Ask for a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

Questions from Lyndhurst

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Generally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Work for landlords and builders

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Do you need bath resealing in Lyndhurst?

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Stained silicone
  • An untidy old seal

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
