Bath Resealing for Mamhilad homes
Bath resealing across Mamhilad and nearby, usually in one visit and guaranteed for a year.

- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Mould you cannot clean out

Bath resealing at your home in Mamhilad
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Common call-outs are for silicone coming away from the tiles and damp near the bath, in shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and baths.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What happens on the day
From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes around two hours, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- We make sure the joint is completely dry.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Before we arrive
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Gaps in the seal
- A messy previous reseal
- Black spots in the silicone

Why reseal now?
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What we can’t put right
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Hidden water damage
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- A flexing bath
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Air the room after use
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Use the extractor fan
Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
