Bath resealing for Marden homes

Bath resealing at your home in Marden

Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s old sealant that looks dirty and silicone smeared on tiles, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Common problems we fix in Marden

No sealant lasts for ever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

Contact us if you’ve noticed:

  • Unsealed corners
  • Damp near the bath
  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

What your quote should include

  • Aftercare advice
  • How the colour is matched
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • How your room will be protected

Resealing in Marden: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why Marden clients choose us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

See our full price list.

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes around two hours, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
