Trusted bath resealing in Merton Park

Bath resealing in Merton Park, done in place

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. If you are dealing with silicone coming away from the tiles and an untidy old seal, we can help, on basins & vanity units, baths and wet rooms alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Greater London and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Merton Park use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Prices and what affects them

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Merton Park. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

For a price in Merton Park, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Common questions in Merton Park

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Merton Park and the rest of Greater London. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

How long does resealing take?

Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Do you need bath resealing in Merton Park?

Even good sealant eventually discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Damp near the bath
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Stained silicone
  • Mould you can’t clean out

Our hiring checklist

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
