About bath repair in SW19
Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. We’re often asked to fix rust by the waste and overflow and snagging damage from a refit, on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.
We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes a few hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including SW19. What changes the price is:
- The material
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How easy the damage is to reach
- What kind of damage it is
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for SW19. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from photos
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:
- One picture of the entire bath
- Any details about the material
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Where you are, by postcode
For a price in SW19, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
What a repair can’t fix
We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- A steel bath rusted through
For landlords and businesses
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.
