Bath repair across MK14: what to expect

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We are frequently asked to fix damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and damage beneath the taps, in roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for MK14. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Should you replace it?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim normally crack when it comes out, a new panel is frequently needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that.

What your quote should include

  • What prep work is covered
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed price

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The material, if you know it
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your MK14 postcode.

Is a bath repair durable?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
