About our bath resealing in Mogador

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. Whether it’s silicone smeared on tiles and damp near the bath, we can normally put it right, on baths, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Why it’s worth resealing in Mogador

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Common problems we fix in Mogador

No sealant lasts for ever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • An untidy old seal
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Leaks at the edges

Questions to ask before booking

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Choosing a repair company

Your questions about bath resealing in Mogador

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Mogador?

We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your KT20 postcode.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Movement is the usual cause. We seal baths full of water.

What a repair can’t fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Let steam out after showers

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take about two hours for a bath, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

What affects the price in Mogador

We charge the same across the UK, including Mogador. The price reflects:

  • How much damage there is
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Unusual colours or finishes

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from pictures

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Any details about the material
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A picture taken from further back

To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
