Bath resealing for Moniaive homes

Bath resealing in Moniaive without replacing anything

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they keep water out. Whether it’s silicone coming away from the tiles and an untidy old seal, we can help.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

FAQs for Moniaive

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Moniaive included. Travel is included in the price.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Moniaive.

How long will it take?

A bath or shower generally takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Do you charge for travel?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

How to look after the repair

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A flexing bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Hidden water damage

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Moniaive as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What bath resealing costs

We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed price

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • Something in shot to show the size

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

When to call us in Moniaive

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

People generally call us after spotting something like this:

  • A messy previous reseal
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Black mould in the sealant

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

10 questions to ask before you book

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes a couple of hours, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

Ask for a price

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
