Your questions about bath resealing in Moorlinch

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Which areas do you work in?

The entire UK, including all of Somerset. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

How we handle bath resealing in Moorlinch

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We work on baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and common reasons people get in touch are silicone coming away from the tiles and silicone smeared on tiles.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

How we price bath resealing

Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The colour and finish to match

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A photo taken from further back

Send us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Moorlinch, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Do you need bath resealing in Moorlinch?

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Unsealed corners

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

How to compare quotes

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Hidden water damage
  • A flexing bath
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes around two hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
