Bath resealing at your home in Mount
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Common call-outs are for a messy previous reseal and gaps in the seal, across basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and baths.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

What your bath or shower is made of matters
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
What a repair cannot fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Keeping it looking good
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
- Let steam out after showers
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
- Ventilate the bathroom well
Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.
Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
How long does resealing take?

- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Black mould in the sealant
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Missing sealant behind the taps
What to look for in a quote

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Resealing in Mount: why it matters
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
