About our bath resealing in Nantyglo

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. We regularly repair baths, basins & vanity units and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are black mould in the sealant and discoloured, yellow sealant.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

How we price bath resealing

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The type of damage

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why book with us

Do you need bath resealing in Nantyglo?

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould grows faster.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Damp near the bath
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Unsealed corners

Comparing quotes

  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Landlord and trade work in Nantyglo

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

How it works

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a couple of hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Common questions in Nantyglo

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

Never over old. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Do you come to Nantyglo?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Nantyglo. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
