Bath resealing in New York, done in place

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Typical jobs include silicone coming away from the tiles and mould you can’t clean out, across wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Resealing in New York: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Why us?

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • A fixed quote before you book

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What we do, step by step

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a couple of hours in most cases. The room is left tidy.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

What a repair can’t fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Signs you need bath resealing in New York

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Gaps in the seal
  • Stained silicone
  • Damp near the bath
  • Gaps by the taps

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How the room is protected while they work

How to compare quotes

Your questions about bath resealing in New York

Do you come to New York?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to New York and the rest of North Tyneside. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you cover the entire of North Tyneside?

We work UK-wide, and that includes New York. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

No, we never seal over old silicone. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

How we price bath resealing

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Something in shot to show the size

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
