Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Bath resealing in Norham, done in place

Baths, trays, basins and kitchen worktops all get resealed, with mould-resistant sanitary silicone. Most jobs take a couple of hours, plus curing time. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, wet rooms and baths, and common reasons people get in touch are leaks at the edges and mould you can’t clean out.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Norham

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

What bath resealing costs

We charge the same across the UK, including Norham. What changes the price is:

  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately if a repair is the right fix.

Questions from Norham

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

How long does a reseal take?

A bath or shower normally takes a couple of hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

What you get with us

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

How it works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes about two hours for a bath, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Preparing for the visit

Advice

Aftercare tips

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
