Bath resealing in North Cerney, done in place
Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. Common call-outs are for an untidy old seal and black spots in the silicone, in basins & vanity units, wet rooms and baths.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

What we can’t put right
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
What we work on
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
- Baths
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How it works
We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. It normally takes around two hours, and we will keep you posted as we go.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.
How to prepare
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Clear the area around the damage
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Do you work in North Cerney?

When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
You’ll get the curing time from us, typically around a day.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
The bath or tray is probably flexing. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Common problems we fix in North Cerney
No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Black mould in the sealant
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Sealant that’s split or lifting
What to look for in a quote
- When it can be used again
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- How to look after the finish
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

What affects the price in North Cerney
You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.
How to get a fixed quote
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Where you are, by postcode
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The material, if you know it
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
How to care for the repair
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Air the room after use
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally around 24 hours.
Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
Resealing in North Cerney: why it matters
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Why book with us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- One visit for most repairs
- No extra charge for your area
- We leave the room as we found it
