Need bath resealing in Olchard?

How we handle bath resealing in Olchard

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Common call-outs are for mould you can’t clean out and sealant that’s split or lifting, on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

What we do, step by step

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes a couple of hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

Advice

FAQs for Olchard

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

What happens next?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

How much does bath resealing cost in Olchard?

The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Common problems we fix in Olchard

Sealant does not last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

Clients generally contact us about:

  • Gaps in the seal
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Damp near the bath

What your quote should include

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How to care for the finish
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Who turns up on the day

How to compare quotes

Resealing in Olchard: why it matters

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Olchard. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Prices and what affects them

A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • Any details about the material

For a price in Olchard, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Olchard

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Honest limits

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
