Trusted bath resealing in Old Down

Bath resealing at your home in Old Down

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. We regularly repair shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and wet rooms, and common reasons people contact us are old sealant that looks dirty and gaps by the taps.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Old Down and across South Gloucestershire.

How we price bath resealing

We don’t charge extra for travel to Old Down. The price depends on:

  • The material and finish
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The material, if you know it
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • Where you are, by postcode

For a price in Old Down, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

What we cannot put right

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Choosing a repair company

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details.
