We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops, with mould-resistant sanitary silicone. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours, plus curing time. Questions from Packmoor

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

How long does silicone take to cure?

We’ll give you the curing time, typically around a day.

What happens after I send pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Why reseal now?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Packmoor, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Packmoor as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

How we price bath resealing

Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send photos for a quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Getting a price

Advice

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
