Bath resealing near Park

Bath resealing in Park, done in place

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Common call-outs are for an untidy old seal and silicone coming away from the tiles, across shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes around two hours in most cases. The room is left tidy.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

When to call us in Park

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Unsealed corners
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Old sealant that looks dirty

Questions to ask before you book

  • How to care for the finish
  • How your room will be protected
  • Who turns up on the day
  • If travel is included in the price

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Questions from Park

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

How long before I can shower?

Typically after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, so Park is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

How long does a reseal take?

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.

How we price bath resealing

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The type of damage
  • How hard the colour is to match

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Send photos for a quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Park

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

What we can’t put right

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

Why it’s worth resealing in Park

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
