Bath resealing at your home in Peel Hall

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. We are frequently asked to fix gaps in the seal and a messy previous reseal, across kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Resealing in Peel Hall: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

What we do, step by step

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

For anyone letting property in or around Peel Hall, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What affects the price in Peel Hall

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A photo taken from further back

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Questions from Peel Hall

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Peel Hall.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

You will get the curing time from us.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.
