About our bath resealing in Penrhos

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Whether it’s sealant that’s split or lifting and black spots in the silicone, we can help, whatever the material.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Penrhos and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

How we price bath resealing

There’s no charge for travel to Penrhos. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed quote

You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes about two hours for a bath. We leave the room clean.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Ask for a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why us?

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One visit for most repairs
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Penrhos use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
