Bath resealing in Rhyl, done in place

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. Typical jobs include sealant that’s split or lifting and a messy previous reseal, on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What affects the price in Rhyl

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Rhyl

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Rhyl as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Resealing in Rhyl: why it matters

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes a couple of hours in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Related advice

When we’d advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures

How to look after the repair

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Rhyl questions

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

How long will it take?

A bath or shower typically takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
