About our bath resealing in Rushenden
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Our repair technicians work on wet rooms, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are gaps in the seal and a messy previous reseal.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What we can’t put right
We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Shower trays & enclosures
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Can I fix it myself?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
What we do, step by step
Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes a couple of hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
Before we arrive
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let us know about parking or access
Ask for a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?
Generally because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Repairs by material
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
How to look after the repair
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Keep the joints dry
- Open a window after bathing
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Give the seal a regular clean
Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.
Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
