Bath resealing at your home in Rusper
All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. If you’re dealing with mould you can’t clean out and gaps by the taps, we can help.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Rusper questions
Do you seal over the old sealant?
Never over old. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Do you charge for travel?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
Normally about a day later. We confirm before we leave.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Typically poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
What areas do you cover?
All of West Sussex, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
The process
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. Allow around two hours, and we will tell you if anything changes.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Aftercare tips
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Let steam out after showers
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Keep bottles off the joints
Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

What affects the price in Rusper
Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How much damage there is
- Access to the area
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Getting a price from photos
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:
- Natural light rather than flash
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Any details about the material
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Rusper, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
