Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Ryall, Dorset
Bath resealing in and around Ryall: photo quotes, tidy work and a year’s guarantee.
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- An untidy old seal
- Mould you cannot clean out

Bath resealing at your home in Ryall
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Whether it’s mould you can’t clean out and silicone coming away from the tiles, we can normally put it right, on baths, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units alike.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit.

Why reseal now?
Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
Aftercare tips
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Let steam out after showers
Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

The process
When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job typically takes about two hours for a bath. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
Before we arrive
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

FAQs for Ryall
Do the materials smell?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
How quickly can you book me in?
We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
Typically after around 24 hours. We will tell you the exact time.
How do I stop mould in sealant?
Generally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
My seal keeps tearing. Why?
Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Dorset.
Repairs by material
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Prices and what affects them
Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The type of damage
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
How to get a fixed quote
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Natural light rather than flash
- The material, if you know it
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
Work for landlords and builders
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
