Bath resealing in Allington without replacing anything
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Whether it’s old sealant that looks dirty and water getting behind the bath or tray, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Is resealing worth it?
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Your questions about bath resealing in Allington
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
What happens next?
You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
Do you cover Allington?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Allington and the rest of Dorset. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Do you seal over the old sealant?
No, we never seal over old silicone. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Keeping it looking good
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Air the room after use
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
Honest limits
We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
What we work on
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
How the visit works
Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a couple of hours, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
How to prepare
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

DIY kit or professional repair?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Work for landlords and builders
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
When to call us in Allington
Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning can’t get it all out.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- An untidy old seal
- Mould you can’t clean out
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Gaps in the seal
