DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Scots' Gap: your questions answered

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Scots' Gap included. Travel is included in the price.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

How long does a reseal take?

A bath or shower typically takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes about two hours for a bath for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Let us know about parking or access

Getting a price

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

How to compare quotes

Resealing in Scots' Gap: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why Scots' Gap clients choose us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • No need to remove anything

Landlords, agents and businesses in Scots' Gap

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

If you manage property in Scots' Gap, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Air the room after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A flexing bath
  • Hidden water damage

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
