What bath resealing costs

You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Any details about the material

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Bath resealing in Seifton without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. We’re frequently asked to fix old sealant that looks dirty and sealant that’s split or lifting, across wet rooms, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

The process

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes around two hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Getting a price

FAQs for Seifton

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Seifton and the rest of Shropshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Are there extra charges for Seifton?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Keeping it looking good

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Let steam out after showers

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Why it’s worth resealing in Seifton

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Seifton. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Work done at your home or business
  • No need to remove anything
