Need bath resealing in Slad?

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Bath resealing in Slad, done in place

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. Typical jobs include leaks at the edges and silicone smeared on tiles, on baths, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

When to call us in Slad

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Sealant that is split or lifting

Before booking anyone

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What happens if they find more damage

Slad questions

Are there extra charges for Slad?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

How much does bath resealing cost in Slad?

Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures

What affects the price in Slad

There is no charge for travel to Slad. The price depends on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send pictures for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your GL6 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Why it’s worth resealing in Slad

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

Why book with us

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • One visit for most repairs
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Take a look at our prices page.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a couple of hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Make sure the area is dry

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Open a window after bathing

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
