Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?

How long does resealing take?
Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Can landlords book you?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Wiltshire.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Bath resealing at your home in Sodom
All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We are often asked to fix black mould in the sealant and gaps by the taps, in baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Wiltshire.

Repairs by material
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
When we would advise against a repair
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Hidden water damage
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Materials we repair
- Baths
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
How to care for the repair
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
What happens on the day
You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Resealing in Sodom: why it matters
Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.
Why us?
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Most jobs done in one visit

When to call us in Sodom
Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning only removes the surface.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Black mould in the sealant
- Gaps by the taps
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Gaps in the seal
What your quote should include
- How your room will be protected
- When it can be used again
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
DIY kit or professional repair?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
