Trusted bath resealing in South Lynn

Bath resealing in South Lynn without replacing anything

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. We are often asked to fix gaps in the seal and black spots in the silicone, on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and wet rooms.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

What a repair can’t fix

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A flexing bath
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

The process

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a couple of hours, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

What affects the price in South Lynn

We charge the same across the UK, including South Lynn. The price reflects:

  • The type of damage
  • How many areas need work
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Most customers in South Lynn get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

South Lynn questions

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

What areas do you cover?

The whole UK, including all of Norfolk. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, typically around a day.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Air the room after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
