Bath resealing in Southbourne

Southbourne: your questions answered

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can tenants book a repair?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How long does resealing take?

A bath or shower typically takes a couple of hours. Leave it to cure before use.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Bath resealing at your home in Southbourne

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they keep water out. We’re frequently asked to fix silicone coming away from the tiles and mould you can’t clean out, on basins & vanity units, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Landlord and trade work in Southbourne

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

What happens on the day

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a couple of hours, tidy-up included.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Advice

How to look after the repair

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Air the room after use
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Why it’s worth resealing in Southbourne

Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

DIY repairs versus a professional job

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What bath resealing costs

Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower

If you’re in Southbourne and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

What we can’t put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Different materials, different repairs

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
