What bath resealing costs

Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • The material and finish
  • How much damage there is
  • The type of damage
  • How many items we do on one visit

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Sowerby. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • Any details about the material
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.

Bath resealing in Sowerby without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Our technicians work on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and baths, and common reasons people get in touch are black spots in the silicone and sealant that’s split or lifting.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Questions from Sowerby

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Sowerby and the rest of North Yorkshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

How long does a reseal take?

Usually a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

How soon can you come?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for about two hours for a bath from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What we can’t put right

We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hollow or loose tiles

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Common problems we fix in Sowerby

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed with the bath empty.

Clients typically contact us about:

  • Black spots in the silicone
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Damp near the bath
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting

Before you book anyone

  • Who will actually do the work
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What preparation is included
  • How the room is protected while they work

Choosing a repair company

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Use the extractor fan

Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
