Trusted bath resealing in Spotland

Bath resealing in Spotland without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Typical jobs include black mould in the sealant and damp near the bath, in baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

What bath resealing costs

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Resealing in Spotland: why it matters

Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Spotland: your questions answered

What do you need from me?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Are there extra charges for Spotland?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Spotland included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Normally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • A flexing bath
  • Hidden water damage

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes a couple of hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
