How we price bath resealing

We don’t charge extra for travel to St Day. The price depends on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Access to the area

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Send photos for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

If you are in St Day and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Bath resealing in St Day without replacing anything

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are black spots in the silicone and gaps in the seal.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

FAQs for St Day

How long before I can shower?

You’ll get the curing time from us.

When can you do it?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

How long does a reseal take?

A bath or shower typically takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

What happens after I send pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Do you cover the whole of Cornwall?

The whole UK, including all of Cornwall. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.

The process

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes a couple of hours. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

10 questions to ask before you book

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in St Day use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
