Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in St Helen's, East Sussex
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone in St Helen's, carried out at your home and guaranteed for a year.
- Mould you cannot clean out
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Silicone coming away from the tiles

How we handle bath resealing in St Helen's
A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. If you’re dealing with silicone smeared on tiles and discoloured, yellow sealant, we can typically put it right, on shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and baths alike.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Repairs by material
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Do you need bath resealing in St Helen's?
Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Damp near the bath
- Black spots in the silicone
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Silicone coming away from the tiles

Landlord and trade work in St Helen's
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in East Sussex and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
Aftercare tips
To keep it looking its best for years:
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Air the room after use
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

How the visit works
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to around two hours.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.
How to prepare
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
