Book bath resealing in Statfold

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why Statfold customers choose us

About our bath resealing in Statfold

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks, and common reasons people contact us are unsealed corners and black mould in the sealant.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Honest limits

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Hidden water damage
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

FAQs for Statfold

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally about a day later. We confirm before we leave.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Normally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Do you work in Statfold?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Statfold. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Normally because the bath or tray moves. We seal baths full of water.

What information do you need?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

How the visit works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to about two hours for a bath.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

What affects the price in Statfold

You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The material, if you know it
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

For a price in Statfold, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

For anyone letting property in or around Statfold, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
