Bath resealing at your home in Station Town

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. If you are dealing with sealant that’s split or lifting and damp near the bath, we can usually put it right.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

How we price bath resealing

We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. Try to include:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The material, if you know it

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A flexing bath
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Station Town: your questions answered

Do you seal over the old sealant?

No, we never seal over old silicone. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

How much does bath resealing cost in Station Town?

Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What we are called out for in Station Town

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

What your quote should include

  • How the colour is matched
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Our hiring checklist

How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes a couple of hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Getting a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
