Trusted bath resealing in Stondon

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Bath resealing in Stondon without replacing anything

We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops using mould-resistant silicone. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours. Typical jobs include discoloured, yellow sealant and gaps in the seal, on basins & vanity units, wet rooms and baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

What affects the price in Stondon

We don’t charge extra for travel to Stondon. The price depends on:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material
  • A picture taken from further back

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Common questions in Stondon

How long does silicone take to cure?

You’ll get the curing time from us.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Do you cover the whole of Central Bedfordshire?

The entire UK, including all of Central Bedfordshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Stondon.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.

Why it’s worth resealing in Stondon

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

What we are called out for in Stondon

No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Leaks at the edges
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Missing sealant behind the taps

Questions to ask before booking

  • Aftercare advice
  • If travel is included in the price
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • When it can be used again

How to compare quotes

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes about two hours for a bath, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
