Bath resealing near Streethay

Bath resealing in Streethay, done in place

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. If you are dealing with gaps by the taps and silicone smeared on tiles, we can generally put it right, on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths alike.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for about two hours for a bath. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Landlord and trade work in Streethay

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Streethay questions

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Do you cover the entire of Staffordshire?

The entire UK, including all of Staffordshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Streethay?

Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your WS13 postcode.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

Do you come to Streethay?

We do. We send a technician to Streethay for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

When we’d advise against a repair

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Movement in the bath or tray

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units

Prices and what affects them

There’s no charge for travel to Streethay. The price depends on:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many areas need work
  • How hard the colour is to match

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Any details about the material
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Common problems we fix in Streethay

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: damp hangs around, and mould grows faster.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Gaps in the seal
  • An untidy old seal
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Black spots in the silicone

Questions to ask before booking

  • How your room will be protected
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Our hiring checklist

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
