Book bath resealing in The Hook

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Bath resealing in The Hook without replacing anything

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Common call-outs are for sealant that’s split or lifting and leaks at the edges, on baths, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in The Hook and across Worcestershire.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for The Hook. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Common questions in The Hook

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Usually because the bath or tray moves. We seal baths full of water.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

Do you work in The Hook?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to The Hook. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • A flexing bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Use the extractor fan

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

What we do, step by step

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Clear the area around the damage
