Bath resealing for Theale homes

Bath resealing in Theale without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. If you are dealing with old sealant that looks dirty and a messy previous reseal, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How we price bath resealing

We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material
  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why us?

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • A flexing bath
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Hidden water damage

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we work on in Theale

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units

The process

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How to get a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Related advice

Landlord and trade work in Theale

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Questions from Theale

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Every job gets a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

What happens after I send pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

How to look after the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
