Bath resealing in Trispen, done in place
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Our technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths, and the jobs we see most are silicone coming away from the tiles and water getting behind the bath or tray.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?

How long will it take?
Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.
What does bath resealing cost?
Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your TR4 postcode.
How it works
We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes about two hours for a bath for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
How to prepare
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
How to get a price
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

When a repair is not the answer
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- A flexing bath
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
Why reseal now?
Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Open a window after bathing
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
What bath resealing costs
Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- What kind of damage it is
- How much damage there is
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Unusual colours or finishes
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Trispen. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- Natural light rather than flash
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- One picture of the whole bath or shower
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
